England Vs Australia Summary 18 November 2000.

The match between England and Australia saw the Six Nations champions play the Tri-Nations champions. England won thanks to an injury-time try by Dan Luger, and claimed the Cook Cup for the first time. It was England's first victory over Australia in the professional era.  They won 22-19.

Days later, England's players went on strike over a dispute with the Rugby Football Union over pay. This nearly led to coach Clive Woodward selecting a second-choice squad for the following weekend's match against Argentina, but the disagreement was ultimately resolved and the strike ended in time for the affected players to be selected.

The squad that day was;

M Perry (Bath); A Healey (Leicester), M Tindall (Bath), M Catt (Bath), D Luger (Saracens); J Wilkinson (Newcastle), K Bracken (Saracens); J Leonard (Harlequins), P Greening (Wasps), P Vickery (Gloucester), M Johnson (Leicester, capt), D Grewcock (Saracens), R Hill (Saracens), N Back (Leicester), L Dallaglio (Wasps), M Regan (Bath), D Flatman (Saracens), S Borthwick (Bath), M Corry (Leicester), M Dawson (Northampton), W Greenwood (Harlequins)

Phil Greening Biography.
Phil Greening was born 3 October 1975 and is an English former rugby union footballer who played as a hooker. He finished his rugby career with London Wasps in 2005. During his career he earned 24 caps for England, as well as going to Australia with the British and Irish Lions in 2001.

His rugby career started at his place of birth, Gloucester. After playing for Sale Sharks, he joined the Wasps for the 2000 season. At Wasps he enjoyed a great deal of success, which included a total of four club trophies that the team won during the 2002–03 and 2003–04 seasons. He was a replacement as Wasps won the 2002–03 Premiership Final, and two years later started when they won the final for the third year in a row.

He was injured for much of 2004 meaning he missed out on Wasps' victories in the 2004 Premiership Final and the 2004 Heineken Cup Final.
