Collabro are a UK-based musical theatre vocal group formed in London in January 2014. The original line-up comprised Michael Auger, Jamie Lambert, Matthew Pagan, Thomas J. Redgrave and Richard Hadfield, with the group later continuing as a quartet. Their repertoire centres on musical theatre standards alongside pop and film selections, and they are best known for winning the eighth series of Britain’s Got Talent.

The group came together through auditions and online connections, meeting to rehearse shortly before their television debut. In 2014 Collabro gained national attention with their performance of “Stars” from Les Misérables and went on to win Britain’s Got Talent, a breakthrough that led to a recording contract and immediate chart success. Their debut album, Stars, was released in August 2014 and entered the UK Albums Chart at number one.

Collabro consolidated their early momentum with Act Two (2015), which reached number two in the UK, and continued to chart with later releases. Home (2017) reached the UK top ten, reflecting a broad audience for their theatrical crossover sound. During this period Richard Hadfield left the group, and Collabro continued with four members while maintaining a schedule of tours and album projects focused on stage repertoire and vocal arrangements.

In the late 2010s the group released Road to the Royal Albert Hall (2018) and Love Like This (2019), followed by Christmas Is Here (2020). In August 2022 Collabro announced their disbandment and completed a farewell tour later that year. The members subsequently reunited for an anniversary concert in 2025 and announced further UK live dates for 2026.

Collabro’s legacy is closely linked to their role in bringing musical theatre performance into the mainstream UK charts during the 2010s. Their early releases achieved strong UK chart positions, and their repertoire helped introduce stage standards to audiences beyond traditional theatre settings. Their career illustrates the crossover potential created by televised talent competitions, while later reunion activity reflects the continuing popularity of vocal-group interpretations of musical theatre in contemporary popular music.
