Selena Gomez

Selena Marie Gomez (born 22 July 1992 in Grand Prairie, Texas) is an American singer, actress and producer whose work spans pop music and film and television. She first became widely known through Disney Channel television before establishing a parallel career as a solo recording artist with multiple charting albums and singles.

Gomez began acting as a child and rose to prominence as the lead of the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place (2007–2012). She later formed the pop band Selena Gomez & the Scene, releasing albums in the late 2000s and early 2010s, before shifting focus to a solo pop career that expanded her audience beyond children’s television. 

Her peak commercial period as a recording artist included the albums Revival (2015) and Rare (2020), both of which produced widely streamed singles and contributed to her standing as a major figure in 2010s pop. During this era she also developed a broader screen profile through film roles and high-visibility projects, including work as an executive producer, alongside ongoing music releases.
