Pink (stylised as P!nk) (Alecia Beth Moore) was born on 8 September 1979 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, United States. She is an American singer, songwriter and performer whose music spans pop, rock and R&B influences. Pink is notable for a long-running international career that began in the late 1990s and has included multiple chart-topping albums, major tours and industry awards.

Moore grew up in Pennsylvania and began performing in local venues as a teenager. She first entered the music industry through the R&B group Choice before signing a solo deal. Pink’s debut studio album, Can’t Take Me Home, was released in 2000 and produced hit singles including “There You Go”. Her early work positioned her within contemporary R&B and pop, while her public persona emphasised vocal power and athletic stage performance.

Her breakthrough and peak commercial era began with Missundaztood (2001), which marked a stylistic shift towards pop-rock and became a major international success. The album included singles such as “Get the Party Started”, “Just Like a Pill” and “Family Portrait”. Pink maintained chart prominence through subsequent releases including Try This (2003), I’m Not Dead (2006) and Funhouse (2008), the latter featuring “So What”. Across this period she became a consistent presence on global charts and in large-scale touring.

From the 2010s onwards, Pink continued releasing albums and headlining major tours, including The Truth About Love (2012), Beautiful Trauma (2017) and Trustfall (2023). Her later career has also included soundtrack and collaborative work, alongside television and documentary projects. She has remained associated with large live productions that place emphasis on choreography and aerial performance, alongside a catalogue spanning ballads and uptempo pop.

Pink’s record sales have been widely reported in excess of 135 million records worldwide. She has received multiple Grammy Awards and a range of other international honours, reflecting both commercial success and industry recognition. Her long-term influence is often linked to her crossover between pop and rock styles, her sustained touring profile and the continued popularity of her early-2000s catalogue with later audiences.
