Mabel Alabama-Pearl McVey (born 19 February 1996) is an English-Swedish singer-songwriter born in Alhaurín el Grande, Málaga, Spain. Raised between the UK and Sweden, she has worked primarily in pop and contemporary R&B. She became a prominent UK chart act in the late 2010s and is noted for a run of top-ten singles and for winning the Brit Award for British Female Solo Artist.

Mabel began releasing music during the mid-2010s after early songwriting and performance experience shaped by a musical family background. She issued early singles before achieving a major breakthrough in 2017 with ‘Finders Keepers’, which reached the UK top ten and established her mainstream profile. Further singles and collaborations followed, building a sequence of releases that positioned her among the leading young British pop artists of the period.

Her peak commercial era was centred on her debut album, High Expectations (2019), which entered the UK Albums Chart at number three and included major singles such as ‘Don’t Call Me Up’, ‘Mad Love’, and ‘Boyfriend’. ‘Don’t Call Me Up’ became one of her best-known songs, placing in the UK top three and also charting in the United States. In 2020, she won the Brit Award for British Female Solo Artist, consolidating her standing within the UK music industry.

Mabel continued to release new work in the early 2020s, including her second studio album About Last Night… (2022), which reached number two in the UK. Her output during this period included additional singles and collaborations, alongside live performances and touring. In 2025, she released a mixtape titled Mabel, reflecting an ongoing recording schedule and a continued presence in British pop.

Mabel’s career to date has combined strong domestic chart performance with international visibility through streaming and collaborations. Her honours include a major Brit Award win, and her late-2010s singles remain central to her public profile. As part of a cohort of UK pop artists who emerged through streaming-era exposure and consistent singles campaigns, she has maintained long-term popularity through regular releases and a catalogue built around contemporary pop songwriting.
