Jonty Rhodes Bibliography.
Jonathan Neil "Jonty" Rhodes was born 27 July 1969 and is a South African professional cricket commentator and former Test and One Day International cricketer. He played for the South African cricket team between 1992 and 2003.
He was born in Pietermaritzburg, Natal Province, South Africa. Whilst being noted for his quick running as a right-handed batsman, he was especially noted for his defensive fielding, particularly catching, ground fielding, and throwing from his most common position of backward point. A report prepared by Cricinfo in late 2005 showed that since the 1999 Cricket World Cup, he had effected the ninth-highest number of run outs in ODI cricket of any fieldsman, with the third-highest success rate. He is regarded as one of the greatest fielders of all time and was the first South African cricketer to take 100 ODI catches.
1999 Cricket World Cup Bibliography.
The 1999 Cricket World Cup (officially known as ICC Cricket World Cup '99) was the seventh edition of the Cricket World Cup, organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC). It was hosted primarily by England, with Scotland, Ireland, Wales and the Netherlands acting as co-hosts. The tournament was won by Australia, who beat Pakistan by 8 wickets in the final at Lord's Cricket Ground in London. New Zealand and South Africa were the other semi-finalists. The tournament was hosted three years after the previous Cricket World Cup, deviating from the usual four-year gap.
