Kenneth Ray "Kenny" Rogers was born August 21, 1938 and is an American singer, songwriter, actor and record producer.
He is a member of the Country Music Hall Of Fame.
He has been most successful with country audiences, but he has charted more than 120 hit singles across various music genres, topped the country and pop album charts for more than 200 weeks in the United States alone and has sold over 120 million records worldwide, certifying his position as one of the top selling music artists of all time. The single" "Lucille" released in 1977 was a major hit, reaching number one on the pop charts in 12 countries, selling over 5 million copies, and firmly establishing Rogers' post-First Edition career. On the strength of "Lucille," this album Kenny Rogers reached No. 1 in the Billboard Country Album Charts.
