Bryan Robson Bibliography

Bryan Robson OBE was born 11 January 1957 and is an English football manager and former player. He was born in Chester-le-Street, County Durham and began his career with West Bromwich Albion in 1972.

He moved to Manchester United in 1981, where he became the longest serving captain in the club's history and won two Premier League winners' medals, three FA Cups, two FA Charity Shields and a European Cup Winners' Cup. In August 2011, He was voted as the greatest ever Manchester United player in a poll of the club's former players.

He represented England on 90 occasions between 1980 and 1991, making him, at the time, the fifth most capped England player. His goalscoring tally of 26 placed him eighth on the list at the time. He captained his country 65 times, with only Bobby Moore and Billy Wright having captained England on more occasions. He is also known by the nicknames "Robbo" and "Captain Marvel". Bobby Robson stated that he was, along with Alan Shearer and Kevin Beattie, the best British player he ever worked with.

On leaving Old Trafford, he began his management career as a player-manager with Middlesbrough in 1994, retiring from playing in 1997. In seven years as Middlesbrough manager, he guided them to three Wembley finals, which were all lost, and earned them promotion to the Premier League on two occasions. Between 1994 and 1996, he also served as assistant coach to England manager Terry Venables, which included Euro 96. He later returned to West Bromwich Albion for two years as manager, helping them become the first top division team in 14 years to avoid relegation after being bottom of the league table on Christmas Day. Less successful have been his short-lived spells as manager of Bradford City and Sheffield United, the former lasting barely six months and ending in relegation from what is now the EFL Championship, and the latter lasting less than a year and seeing his expensively-assembled side fail to challenge for promotion to the Premier League. On 23 September 2009, Robson was appointed manager of the Thailand national team. He resigned on 8 June 2011.

On 1 July 2011, Robson was appointed "Global Ambassador" at Manchester United.

Norman Whiteside Bibliography;

Norman Whiteside was born 7 May 1965 and is a former Northern Ireland international footballer who played in two World Cups. He played both as a midfielder and as a striker.

He began his career at Manchester United, signing professional forms in 1982 at the age of 17 and quickly becoming a key member of the side.He became United's youngest first team player since Duncan Edwards in 1953, when he made his debut as a substitute against Brighton & Hove Albion in a 1–0 league win at the Goldstone Ground on 24 April 1982, two weeks before his 17th birthday. He scored 68 goals in 278 league and cup appearances for the club over the next seven years, picking up two FA Cup winners medals in 1983 and 1985, as well as playing in the 1982 FA Youth Cup final, the 1983 League Cup final, and the FA Charity Shield in 1983.

He remained with United until July 1989, when he was sold to Everton for £600,000. However, he retired from playing two years later, aged only 26, due to a knee injury. He holds records as the youngest player to take part in a World Cup, the youngest player to score in a League Cup and FA Cup final, and the youngest player to score a senior goal for Manchester United.

He won 38 caps for Northern Ireland, he played at the 1982 and 1986 World Cups, and also helped his country to win the last ever British Home Championship in 1983–84. After retiring as a player he became a podiatrist, and still works at the corporate hospitality department at Old Trafford.
